Schalke have just missed out on winning the Bundesliga this season but it is a good testament to their team that a win today against Mainz who are languishing in mid-table would see them be the top away team in the Bundesliga, which is something for things to worry about next season.

Felix Magath seems to go and turn around whatever team that he takes up with, and that shows the league his skills as a manager where he can take any ordinary team, and make them into potential champions or even champions like he did with Wolfsburg.

Kevin Kuranyi's performance this season for Schalke have led to questions on his call up back into the German national team, but so far there has been no luck on that. While there is a lot of questions on his future with the club, and could be willing to put on one final performance for the Royal Blues, in what could be his last outing.

Mainz are safe in mid-table and have managed to secure themselves for a second straight season in the Bundesliga. Mainz's primary concern is off conceding goals and that too really early, and should Schalke be able to get one from there, it could be done and dusted for the home side.
