Del Potro vs Melzer - Tennis - Tournament - Tip Preview

Melzer (AUT) I will keep this preview as short as possible.From the very start i'm telling you all that i'm going with Del Potro to win his second ATP title in two weeks. Judging by the age the two players have, most people would say the Melzer has a good chance in this final because of his experience, but 27 years of age is now-a-days kind of old to play tennis, especially if you have never been one of the top 10 players of the world. But let's judge this match from what we have seen so far in this tournament from the two players, and also what they have showed in recent history.Del Potro has just won the Mercedes Cup last week, winning against players like Gasquet< Schawank and even home player, Kohlschreiber.In the same competition Melzer lost against Calleri in the first match in straight sets (7-6, 6-4). So far in this tournament, Del Potro won all matches in straight sets even the last one against Hanescu whom he defeated 6-3 7-6, and keep in mind that Hanescu also is a player in a great form winning the Swiss Open last week, and has a great and strong serve, yet still Del Potro look well in control of the match. On the other side Melzer kind of struggled in the last two matches against Starace and Schuettler, winning both matches 2-1.In the last match against Starace he could have closed the match with a straight sets win but when he had to serve for the match he was broken.I don't see Melzer having any advantage with his serve today and even more it could create him some problems.His tactics with Starce with a lot of drop-shots or a serve-volley game won't work with Del Potro.The Argentinian has a great movement on court and can produce some wonderful passing shots when playing in defense. I really can't see with what can Melzer come here to win over Del Potro.Not only will it be hard for Melzer to keep his own serve but taking in consideration the way Del Potro is serving, it will be even harder to make a break. One more thing would be that Melzer is the home player and will have the support of the public but the way i see it, it will only put more pressure on him and help Del Potro be more concentrated. My pick is Del Potro to win at an 1.40 odd at Pinnacle.The odds look low but taking in consideration the facts, it has value in it.Other bookmaker offer somewhere around 1.35.
