Portugal vs Germany - Football - Euro 2008 - Tip Preview

At the start of this Euro, Germany was the first favorite to win the Cup.I found that to be quite a joke because there are no facts that would ever indicate to such an outcome.Germany is a team that does have some talented and hard-working players, but nothing more. Germany started the tournament well with a win over Poland.2-0 scoreline, but if you ask me it did not reflect what happened on the pitch.After the Poland match, Germany had to play Croatia.A match in which Croatia showed the world just how easy it is to outplay Germany.Finally in the match against Austria, Germany got the 3 points to see them pass the group stage.A 1-0 score against Austria, doesn't look that good if you ask me.And the goal came from a free kick.That should be something to thing about. The fact is that Germany is putting all their hopes in players that aren't in a good form, haven't had good seasons with their club teams and also seem to be a bit tired on the pitch.On the other side, Portugal is a team that has only in-form players (with a few exceptions) that are looking to win the tournament , after the defeat against Greece 4 years ago. Portugal had managed to qualify from the group stage after the first two matches, so had more time to prepare this match. Germany will be without their couch on the bench, but i don't see how that can have a big impact on the match. What i would look out at this match (and is one of the reason i see Portugal as main favorites) is the fact that the Portuguese players have strong, well placed shots from outside the box, and taking in consideration, Lehman's form (Germany goalkeeper), i wouldn't be surprised to see one or two goals coming from some goalkeeper mistakes. I already went with Portugal to qualify.The 1.73 odds offered by Betfred seemes to be more than decent.Good Luck!
