Carsten Ball vs Mardy Fish

This sports betting tip was written by Sankekur on January 11th, 2010 at 21:17

I didn't expect to see Ball as an underdog here. Young Australian in my opinion have at least 50/50 chances in clash with Fish, and if his serve will be all good, with how ground support it looks like 60/50 for me. Anyways, I saw Carsten against Roddick week ago and even if he lost in straight sets he really impressed me. He made some improvements since his breakthrough in US swing, his serve is really solid, burned a little bit mentally in tie-breaks but Roddick was brutally solid in that clash and through whole week. Still what really impressed me in Carsten game is how athletic he is instead of how big guy he really is. He was stretching amazingly good to return Roddick top serves and even Andy mentioned in post-match interview that Ball is surprisingly fit and moves great for such a big guy. Most of big servers have coordination problems but Ball seems to be totally fine with his size and only uses it to get better reach in returning games. Still he have some holes in his game, but forehand is dealing some serious damage and net game is also nice covered. Fish on other hand was playing for the first time in a while last week and he lost to Baghdatis in straight sets. Although Baghdatis is raising to real threat again in ATP Mardy didn't look too good. He is not yet in the rhythm and in my opinion if Carsten will be consistent on his service game Mardy will struggle either on own games or in tie-break. All on young Australian racket. He is capable win with Fish in such form, he just have to be consistent and use the home crowd to give him strength.

Pick : Ball 2:0 in sets!
