The biggest problem in this match is rumors about Monfils shoulder injury. Apparently he stretched it last week during training and playing without tape on it against Serra wasn't a best idea as pain was really getting on him. But also Gael said that he looks forward next match and hopefully painkillers and ice will allow him to play his game, without worrying about shoulder discomfort. Blake seems to finally rebuilding his old top 10 form as at the end of last season he was already biting some decent players and now here with some sweat but still he is fighting and got to this place, where he will have to meet another very inconsistent player like Monfils. They both are capable of producing really nice tennis but also many times go quite offline which don't allow them to dominate through entire matches. If both will play their at least average level, free from injuries discomfort I don't see other solution that going into 3 sets. And here I count on Monfils agility, stamina and great defense that should frustrate hitter like Blake. Blake and Dent both said this week that Monfils poses amazing dynamism and rolls his racket with great explosion and power. He respect French man and I believe Monfils have more to offer if those two will go into eye for eye clash. Although French man showman nature and after all moments of weakness will make him to drop a set even if he will be under control of the match. They both had some serious difficulties in past rounds, both kinda rusty during this very first weak. In my opinion Monfils if he won't bothered by his shoulder will edge this one due to advantage in defense and agility/stamina.
