Carsten Ball vs Misha Zverev

Pretty tight match and some might disagree there's any value in this clash. Still I fallow a little bit of sympathy in this match or antipathy should I say as Zverev in my opinion is an overrated player that don't have much to offer even if close opponent like 22 years old Ball. Both are one dimensional choppers. Ball had some nice flashes last season like in Los Angeles or in US Open when his really big serve and net coverage made some real problems to players with even higher skills than Zverev. Still some good matches he was mixing with total flat game and serve unstable performance. Pretty simple, if his serve works from start to end it's pretty hard to go through him, if now, he is fighting with himself and even player like Zverev will find a way to beat young Australian. Zverev had slightly better end of season and played some fairly good matches on indoor hard but still I wouldn't get too excited, it was all in Ball range, assuming he will find his serve from very first game. Besides Zverev always somehow was struggling with big servers, he don't poses great return and mostly was losing when big server was on other side of court. Ball in my opinion even with simpler game, when he got rhythm, poses bigger serve and some decent net play and I think he will frustrate Zverev a lot. For both it's a first match after a break, Ball completely blew his matches on homeland last year, losing all 3 of them, this year as he made some nice adjustments in his game and serve I count he will try to get back credit to home crowd. If his serve will be working like it was on American hard swing in 2009 I think Zverev won't find a way to even take a set, or win a tie-break, although if Ball start to struggle, even lumberjack like Zverev will finish him. Hard to say, but I see slight advantage on Ball side, who is underdog here, I'll take more risky way and say Ball will dominate if his serve will work fine. Good Luck!
