Derby to win.

Newcastle have a good lead at the top of the championship but i have to admit im not that impressed by them and i dont think a great deal of the football their new boss is playing. Actually it has been interesting listening to the Toon fans who despite their lead at the top are still not totally pleased with the way the side are playing.

Derby are obviously struggling near the bottom of the table but manager Clough continues to play the same attacking style with 2 wide players and a side full of guys who can pass. They lost the last 2 at pride park which seen the crowd turn on their side but it is fair to say Derby are a better side on the road where maybe there is a little less pressure.

Watford is a very tough place to go and the Rams pulled of a super win there on their last away trip.

Newcastle are clear at the top of table and look a cert for promotion. But in recent weeks we have seen them struggle against sides like Wed and Barnsley- 2 sides who are near the bottom and in the relegation scrap. Even the win over Boro was a lucky one because the 1st goal in that game should never have stood- a clear foul on the keeper.

Many say this year championship is the closest it has ever been and that on any given day any side can beat anyone. Players, managers, pundits, everyone accepts that if a manager gets his tactics right a surprise result is possible in any fixture.

That is why i am happy to have a small wager on Derby because these odds are far too high. I expect the players, and the manager, will quite enjoy this fixture because for once few people will expect them to take anything given the form of the champions elect.

Derby can relax and play their passing game and hopefully sneak the points.
