both these sides have had real problems at the back so hopefully that will make for a very exciting 90 mins.

martinez is having a strange time of it at wigan. there have been some highs, some terrific results like the day they totally outplayed chelsea. but there have also been some nightmares, losing at pompey and the amazing 9-1 loss down at spurs.

i think he is trying to play a nice style of football but im sure he wishes he had been given the time and cash to improve the defence with better cover than Brambel. He is good in the air but when the ball is on the deck he is easily turned and lacks the quality to defend against the very best forwards.

Bolton are a terrific side for overs, possibly even the best in the league. They do love those set plays and getting the ball in the box as quickly as possibly, no point in short passing nowhere near the box they get in early and look for Davies to win his fair share of balls in the air. It has certainly worked as they are scoring for fun this season and look a decent side from midfield forward.

Im afraid, like Wigan though, they have huge problems at the back and that goals against coloumn, one of the worst in the epl may just be the reason they ending up scraping it out all the way to may in the hope of staying up.

I expect a good game tonight with plenty of action at either end.
