Biarritz-4.5

The French steamrolled Newport last weekend and although away games are always so much tougher i still expect them to be easy winners tonight.

The Dragons have been having a pretty decent spell in the ML but sadly lost a bit of form and some important players just as the european cup started. It was tough luck as a full strength Newport side would have shown up far better in the top competition.

Last weekends defeat was embarrassing though and 35 points difference does not tell quite how far ahead the French outfit were. They simply had too much power and too much class around the rucks. Set plays were also worrying for the Dragons and the scrum folded a couple of times.

Biarritz are not a side we expect to see scoring plenty of trys- lets be honest they have been woeful to watch in europe over the years- but last weekend let us see that there is the class and quality to play expansive rugby as well as the usual French grit and determination.

Dragons have even more injury worries this week and while the supporters and management will feel this is their chance to get right back into things and cause a shock i just cant see it.

Its all about attitude for Biarritz, if they want the points they should get them. I expect them to be turn up tonight because a win here would put them in pole position for a place in the quarter finals and pretty much end Welsh hopes in this section.

Will be tight to start with but Biarritz should cover.
