Here are two teams that are very well organized on the field and are of equal value. Both these teams ended their previous UEFA Cup matches with an under 2.5 goals result. We all know how well did Rangers survived in front of Werder Bremen both at home and away.Now they play yet again the first match at home, and hope again in a favorable result.During the weekend they had to face Celtic and won with a 1-0 score and now have 6 points ahead. Most people consider Rangers a lucky team to be here at this stage, taking in consideration the way they survived against Werder.But the fact is that they are here and Werder are not.They played a more efficient soccer so they deserve to be here.The way i see it, Rangers have as a main concern not to receive any goals in this match (at home) and just try to hit on counter attacks or take Sporting's defense by surprise whenever possible. On the other side, Sporting have a great under 2.5 goals record for away matches.From the 13 away matches played in the Portuguese league this season, only 3 of them were over 2.5 goals matches.Even in the UEFA Cup this are the same.The last away match was with Bolton, and the score was only a 1-0 with a late 85 min. goal. I see both teams starting the game with caution and with some chances of goal but no real pressure or actual goals.I expect a 0-0 here.Either team might win the match, but i feel that if they do, it is a match in which one or two goal at most will settle it. So, i've placed my money on the under 2.5 goals pick.Medium stake for me as i don't feel so confident.Good Luck!
