Yesterday we had two nice matches in the UEFA Champions League.Manchester United closed the deal with Roma with a 2-0 win while Barcelona managed to get a 1-0 win in Germany against Schalke. So, both matches last night ended with few goals.I expect something similar this night when Liverpool host Arsenal and Fenerbahce host Chelsea.But the match i'll be posting my pick on is the Liverpool Arsenal match. These two teams will meet 3 times in the next week.These matches from the Champions League are two, and with the match from the Premier League that is 3. Both team are looking forward to qualifying to the next round of the Champions League.Both teams have great couches that know how to get the best out of their players.They are also very "tactical" in thinking. As the first match in played at Emirates, i believe everyone at Arsenal knows how important it is that they don't receive a goal.It turned out that the 0-0 score with AC Milan was a very good one, despite the fact that most regarded it as a bad result and awarded Arsenal small changes to qualify against Milan. So, the way I see it, Arsenal will have as a main concern not to concede any goals.For this to happen they have to pay attention at Torres (who can be a threat to any defense) and to Gerrard's shots.I believe that Arsenal's defense composed of Toure Gallas Senderos Clichy will be able to make a great in making sure that Torres doesn't create any problems. As far as Arsenal's scoring power goes, i believe that Abebayor isn't in the greatest form, and the rest of the players that come from midfield will be stopped by players like Mascherano, Carragher, Hyypia, Skrtel, Riise.Liverpool showed their defensive skills in the last Premier League match against Everton.Liverpool scored an early goal after which they kind of waited to strike on counter attack. I see this game , as one in which both team will be wating for each others mistakes.This first match is an important one and can set the tone for the other 2 matches to come. So, both teams will start with a relative slow tempo with no goals and as in the match with Ac Milan i expect a 0-0 score or in any case a under 2.5 goals match. The odds aren't that great.In fact i'd say they are quite awful.I'd have wanted something around 1.65 - 1.75 but most bookmakers offer something around 1.50.I have no alternative but to go with what they offer, but because i see little to no value in the odds, i've placed a small stake.
