Both Merseyside clubs are really in a limbo at the moment, which will only intensify this crucial derby between the reds and the blues. Liverpool did win 1-0 in Hungary in midweek but were knocked out of the Europa League due to Fiorentina's win against Lyon. Rafael Benitez has been under the spotlight for the past month or two and this has been one of the worst spell for the reds in their long history. Between the combined 16 games that these two clubs have played recently, they have only collected three wins from those games which is worrying. For Everton, heavy involvement in the Europa League and juggling the League has been an uphill task for them and everyone knows that they do not have the largest of squads in the league as well.

Liverpool's title hopes virtually vanished into thin air after surrendering a 1-0 lead against Manchester City last Sunday. They looked shaky in defence and the final penetrating pass up front was always non existent. IT seems easy to sit on the fence in this one but I guess captain Steven Gerrard will just clinch the sole decisive goal here.
