Toronto vs Phoenix

The Phoenix Suns ride into Toronto to take on the Raptors in what should be an outstanding shooting, run-n-gun, hustle bustle, no defence game that's going to be outstanding for both fans as well as the neutrals. Toronto are among the worst teams in defence in the league, and that's because they got no big guys to support them in the middle. Bosh has never been known for his defensive play, and Bargnani is more of big man in the middle. Last season when they had Jermaine O'Neal atleast they had some defence going on in there. Hedo Turkoglu is also not having a great season since moving to the Raptors, especially when it comes to important buckets and important times. The problem with Toronto is that averagely they have only 2 big scorers from the starting lineup and then have to depend on someone from the bench to help out in the scoring and if they are lucky they get it. Phoenix Suns are in another league at the moment, they are having fun with their basketball. Ask Steve Nash whose playing as if he is 25 again with all his top ball handling are making defences run all around in circles even at this age. Nash has been averaging nearly 12 assists and 16 points per game, which is more than he produced last year and more than the Suns may have expected. Steve Kerr will naturally claim all the credit for keeping Nash and Stoudemire and building the franchise around them. Stoudemire is also having a great season. Without Shaq in the middle, the onus is back on him, like it was in the earlier days, and while their defence has not been that great, they have supplemented the team with some occasional defensive players like Amundson, Lopez and Channing Frye to pitch in and contribute. Not to forget the thing that makes Phoenix tick from the D'Antoni days, the 3 point shooting. With the addition of Frye to the mix, the Suns got an extra shooting threat and can spread the defence and take more shots along with Richardson, Hill, Nash, Barbosa and as well as Jared Dudley. The Suns should out score the Raptors today, comfortably and we can get a clear direction from the first half itself.
