Phoenix Suns were the first team to get to 10 wins this season, and will be looking to improve that record to 11-2 at the expense of the struggling Hornets team, who are without All-Star guard Chris Paul, who is going to be out for an extended period. The Suns have been the only team who have scored 100 or more points throughout this season, and with their renewed spirit and run-n-gun offence, it would be difficult for teams to catch up with their pace at all. The other advantage that the Suns have this season is 4 out of 5 of their starters can hit the 3-ball which helps Steve Nash spread out the offence through all the players on the wing, and that has enabled him to get an NBA-best 11.9 assists per game. With Amare Stoudemire continuing to crash the boards and put up 20 ppg, things are looking more promising for the Suns team, who will be looking to the good old days of 2005-07. The Hornets are looking a shadow of the team that they were in the last 2 seasons, completely struggling to do anything especially on their 3-point shooting which was their main weapon of destruction with shooters like Paul, Stojakovic, Peterson, Pargo and Posey. Since then things have continued to be difficult for the Hornets and with Chris Paul missing, there is a lack of scoring and ball distribution as the Hornets are used to especially for the big guys Okafor and West, who completely depend on Paul's driving in the lane and passing on the ball to the big guys. The bench strength of the Suns has proved to be much better this season, especially with a lot of confidence being given by Gentry to the reserve guys to go out there and shoot, drive in the lane, rebound as if they are the best players on the planet, and the production has definitely gone up for players like Dudley, Amundson, Collins and Dragic. Suns will look to grab another victory on the road tonight at the Hornets, and they could not have a better opportunity than tonight.
